Buy Yarn, Thread, Crochet Hooks Where?

Featured Replies

Anyone know where I can buy yarn and crochet hooks? I vaguely remember

passing such a shop but at the time wasn't interested in those items

so didn't pay much attention. And now I can't remember the location. Thanks for any info.

Many shops around the Warowat market streets selling every manner of such goods. Looked yesterday at zippers, must have seen 11,258 different kinds, sizes, colors etc and also saw thousands of balls of yarn. Surely there will be hooks and needles too.

You didn't look carefully enough. There are far MORE different kinds of zippers and stuff! :)

The OP doesn't say where he/she is located, but there are shops facing the moat on the west side, shops in various shopping malls too.

The best assortment is at Warorat Market, near the flower market by the river, hands down. More than 12,000 varieties I'd say. But, if you only need a couple hundred varieties of zippers and a few dozen varieties of yarn and crochet hooks then the Pinn shop on the inside west moat road (near the south side of the old city) is a good place to start. (oh these compass directions are going to get some people's panties in a twist!) There is also a Pinn shop in Central Airport Plaza Mall and maybe other newfangled malls in the outlaying regions that I've not explored. There was a yarn shop in the Tanin market complex, but it's been over a year since I've been there. (Really should go back. The weather's nice and it's a good place to check out)

Now this little recommendation will probably get me into big trouble with certain members of the Thai Visa crowd, but if you can put up your anti-Christian female umbrella, you're invited to learn all about Warorat market at a Newcomers Tour conducted by the Raintree Center of CM Community Church on Saturday morning, January 31. There's no charge. Tour will start at Raintree Library and Resource Center(http://cmcchurch.org/wordpress/?page_id=535)
