Report Thai Police Launch Helmet Crackdown to Boost Road Safety
Why must it always be a "crack down". Crack downs last for a couple of days, at best, if at all, then everything continues as if it never occurred. Continuous, rigorous, ongoing enforcement of already existing laws and regulations does not seem to part of the zeitgeist of governance. -

The "rudest" social security reform proposal yet
If you're self employed you don't pay into SS and no benefits for you. That's fair. A guy works hard all his life and does well for himself........sorry sir but you worked too and no benefits for you. That is totally wrong. -

My Eco Journey in Thailand
Ourselves, most know already, not really planned, just kind of happened. Being a Cheap Charlie (thrifty) kind of guy, and spiteful of monopolies (big oil, PEA), and no long term income for the wife after I crap out, besides her retirement fund. Also what will be left of my 'oops fund', having no healthcare insurance. After actually deciding to stay in TH, 2017, after daughter out of Uni, moved out of Udon Thani, ASAP. Testing out PKK, since already bought land there a couple years earlier. After a couple years, built the house, and at the time, got a decent price for solar (probably half price now), so added that. Got solar, so not having an BEVs, would be stupid. Picked up the BEV version of car at the time, since loving it, and loving the BEV version even more. Have E-bike, E-MB & car. Solar cuts 5k - 10k a month off living expensive (CC part), depending on how much AC abuse & driving. At max, about 5k each, from petrol & PEA. Wife enjoys gardening, so bought the lot across from the house, which she built a greenhouse on, and produces some fruits & veggies. Not enough to live on, but some tasty stuff. Heavy on figs 😎 Greenhouse, so we actually get to eat them, instead of the squirrels & birds. Have 2 more lots, haven't planted yet, though will, as hate to pay the 300 baht RE tax on each, if not utilized. No RE Tax on house or Greenhouse lots. Have twelve 2000 L water storage tanks, so don't really need PWA, but still use too much of 🙄 Out & about too much to raise chickens for eggs, or any protein to eat. I'd be a vegan anyway, if I had to kill them, as I'd probably name them. Surf is close enough to provide fish, if I fished, and those I could kill, someday, maybe. Like plants, I can hear the scream when killed. That's about as Eco as we'll be, and not trying to be completely self sufficient, as way too lazy. Burn what little trash we generate, in almost smoke-free 'trash oven'. As don't want gov't dumping in the sea ... 'Save the Turtles' -
