train price korat to ayutthaya

I was sold a 2nd class ticket on this route for 400 baht. A 3 hour train ride with aircon. I asked for but was shown a cheaper train about 5 hours later.

400 seems expensive so is there really no cheaper ticket on that train?

It seems the train has no openair carriage and I was given a the worst seat in the carriage, maybe I'm just a grumpy guts. Enjoy the ride. I'll move when the train starts, let's see if I can get away with it. ...

have you ever taken this route? your link mentions nothing of the price, so for all I can tell, 400 might be the correct price!

It's not a joke... how are you supposed to deal with this situation? I told her it was too expensive, walked off, then came back in 10 minutes to confirm, she still wanted 400?! What is this bullcrap !?
