Eye infection is spreading in Roi Et’s Chaturaphakpiman District

Md. Suwannachai Yingcharoen (สุวรรณชัย ยิ่งเจริญ), the Head of the Public Health Office in Roi Et Province, revealed that the conjunctivitis outbreak has spread out widely in Chaturaphakpiman District (จตุรพักตรพิมาณ). Around 200 eye infected patients were found over the first three weeks of this month.

Md. Suwannachai further informed that since the beginning of this year, the number of patients infected with the disease in the province has totally figured out at 1,881, where top six districts with high figures of conjunctivitis patients are counted at 538 in Chaturaphakpiman (จตุรพักตรพิมาน), 184 in Kaseswisai (เกษตรวิสัย), 137 in Phonthong (โพนทอง), 125 in Muang (เมือง), 109 Thawatburi (ธวัชบุรี) and 105 in Nong Pok (หนองพอก). Meanwhile, the number of eye infection patients is rising during the current rainy season, he added.

He further explained that people infected with the disease would have red eyes, causing by a contagious virus. The symptoms such as having a sore eye and tears flow without gums will show out within 1-2 days after contracting the disease.
