Subtitles, Anyone Know How To Use .sub Files?

Featured Replies

I've got a movie, however it's in Spanish, there's a subtitle file (.SUB) that came with it, but I don't know how to use it.

There's also a .IDX file, I'm not sure what this is.

Does anyone know how I can burn the movie and see the subtitles? Either as a DVD or an .avi

Thanks!

Might try VideoLAN

Once you install and start the program open the .avi file, and then go to Video/subtitles track and select the one you want.

This should work with both the .avi, .idx, and .sub files all named the same and in the same directory.

It can be a file from Clone CD:

".sub

CloneCD sub channel data file. For every .sub file there should be an accompanying .ccd file and .img file.

I use BSPlayer to play videos, it will automatically load the subtitle if the file is in the same directory with the same name as the video file.

I also use ConvertXtoDVD when I want to make a DVD with subtitles from the avi & sub files for use in a DVD player. Really simple to use just drag the video file into the app and it will load the subtitle file as well as make menus , chapters etc.

Hope that helps you.

You can use Any DVD Cloner for DVD backup and copy.

Thanks for posting. We all hope that the OP sorted out his problem over two years ago. :o
