Cremation for Chilean cyclist to be held tomorrow at Khon Khen temple



KHON KAEN: -- Cremation of the Chilean inter-continental cyclist Juan Francisco Guillermo will be held tomorrow at Wat Pa Dharma Uttayarn in Khon Kaen province to fulfil his wish expressed before his death, his Singapore wife said today in Nakhon Ratchasima.

Mrs Ng Poh Leng, 40, said the body of her husband will be moved out from Bua Yai hospital before noon today to the temple in Khon Kaen in a motorcade provided by highway police and tourism officials of Nakhon Ratchasima.

She said Juan’s son has arrived in Nakhon Ratchasima from Chilie and he agreed with the cremation of his father in Khon Kaen under the Thai tradition.

The son will return to Chilie on March 12, she said.

She also said now she has fully recovered from injuries from the accident which claimed her husband’s life. Her two-year son was slightly injured.

The Chilean cyclist, 48-year old Juan Francisco, his wife and son were travelling in bicycle equipped with a small trailer. They started the world-tour journey about five years ago and expected to end the gruelling tour in November this year. Their next stop after Thailand is Australia.

The family was hit by a pickup truck driven by a 64-year old Thivarat Chaipidet.

The truck driver was later charged with reckless driving causing deaths to the other people.

RIP, BUT, the cyclist was asked by police NOT to continue until weather conditions and viability improved,

sad and tragic loss to the family,

RIP brother, buenos tardes

and if they had stayed away from these maniac drivers in Thailand then he would still be alive also - it sound a Little like the bikini and the rape/murder ...
