3.2L 6AT 4WD Titanium+: 1,749,000 (+150,000)

Time to think about a BMW X1 as alternative.

Why, the base model X1 is 1,999,000 before the latest tax increase?

Right - it's 2.9M Baht for the 2.0L diesel X1. Not Really a comparison.

If you want to compare a Euro to the Everest, probably the closest match would be a Land Rover Discovery4 at 6M Baht - as it uses a body on frame chassis, and a Ford 3.0L diesel wink.png

That's not really fair to the Discovery though - in other markets where both vehicles are sold, the Land Rover is about 25% cheaper than the Everest wink.png

You could almost fit two of those inside the Everest whistling.gif

Yeah, but you would have to fold down the 2nd row seats too :P

Looking forward to seeing the new focus with 177hp. When is it due? It would gain marks with me over the civic, simply because it will not have a cvt lol

Hertz was Ford owned, seems funny no Fords.Why.?.

Hertz has Fords.

In the USA they offer the Mustang, Focus, Explorer, Super Wagon.

UK they have the fiesta, focus, mondeo, galaxy, S-max, Transit, Crew man.

Shall I list more countries ?

Try Thailand seeing as we live here.I cant find a Ford listed. Budget,Herts or Avis.coffee1.gif

Let's think about this.

Rental cars get mistreated, crashed and break down all the time. Given that, low cost of purchase, and proximity to / proliferation of, service centres is probably the primary criteria that matter.

You certainly don't go and fill up a rental fleet with "driver's cars" - that's just asking for it.

Give the renters the most basic, cheapest, low powered, unexciting/unrewarding to drive cars you can, and you'll have far less problems to solve.

So what. In Thailand Rental Companies use Honda or Toyota models to describe the classes because they are popular. In Australia they use Holden Ford and Hyundai.

Does not matter as rental companies have fine print saying their information is for vehicle category not a specific model. When you pick up they can give you anything in the same size range.

Of coarse they are always going to use popular models in their fleet but that does not mean there is anything wrong with lower volume competitors for private buyers. Would you buy a Toyota Corolla because all the Taxi's do? There is no point second guessing rental companies because they have different priorities and purchasing power to private buyers.

BTW Some time ago I rented Fords in Thailand, cant remember if it was Hertz. Nissans were available as well for a while.

No official release date has been set yet, but sources all reckon H1/16.

No surprises there. I was shocked to find that the BT-50 was Ute of the year last year, despite being not as good as the MK1 PX (and fugly).

I'm very surprised. For the money an Everest costs in Australia, there's an awful lot of competition....

If you read the comments section, there's a lot of bemused people out there - but to be fair, they haven't driven it either ;)

I am enjoying driving it so much now and love the the engine note when accelerating thumbsup.gif .

Went to B-Quick today to do the N2 job ...tyres were 42psi ... and it's a so much better ride now. I did ask the seller when we picked it up...you set the tyres down to 35 yes? Answer yes whistling.gif ....

Wife talked to the Dealers Manager on Tuesday and mentioned the ride ...he said you can drop them to 33psi ... don't need to now smile.png

All the reports I read from Aussies who have had the Tech Pack installed is how do they turn the lane assist off as it's a pain in the bum. The other stuff works pretty well though - auto high beam should be standard on all cars here, and they should come up with 'Auto get-in-the-correct-lane-you-moron assist".

I hope they don't have an option to disable it in Thailand. Force Thais to signal before changing lanes instead of roaming around like the motorway's a single lane just for them. Indicate or get the annoying beeping sound, a mild version of shock therapy.

100,000km per year in all parts of Thailand (BKK, Isaan, Phuket) and 99% of the car(!) drivers I encounter are signalling, basically all of them do this. We must live in a different Thailand or have very different driving methods.

Come to Chiang Mai. Most of them shouldn't even be allowed in a car as a passenger let alone the driver.
