Good on you Humphrey. I hope he thinks deeply about it.

But my point is about thinking of win-win, ideas that may benefit all involved but because of entrenched attitudes, do not get born.

Symbiosis, each party gives and receives.

Eg, English teachers who want to retire in Thailand.......give (say)10 hours per week to the community, get relaxed visa requirements. Do it continually for 5 years, get a permanent retirement. Everyone benefits.

Get over pettiness for the sake of pettiness. Leave behind outmoded practices and principles that are held onto simply because "we've always done it this way"

What ideas can WE think of?

I think this is a great idea- throughout the west. Regrettably, in some areas the elderly would be prey. The destruction of the family in the west will destroy so much that was meaningful, perhaps integral, to our civilization. Nice post. Thanks.
