Visa run to Singapore

Featured Replies

I am flying to Singapore on Thursday and returning on Friday. I can stay overnight at the airport hotel without leaving the transit area. Is that O.K. or do I need to go out through customs and come back in?

if you are attempting to activate some kind of multiple entry visa you are REQUIRED to enter another country prior to returning to Thailand.

Would anybody really check? If it was not Singapore, but for example home country, then likely no stamp would show in the passport.

Anyway, my suggestion would be to go out for a nice meal and use economic hotel.

Done this before.

Better you fly in to Singapore in the morning and fly out on the evening. Forget messing about trying to get a cheap hotel and cheap taxi. There's no such thing in Singapore.

Mass transit from airport (train) very good and not so expensive. New and modern hostels (more like Japanese style, still sharing a bathroom) good quality and relatively cheap. Still, Singapore is expensive, and not exciting, so misterphil's advice is good. But why not take a look while you are there?

In the case of a short trip out to a country within the region the immigration officer at arrivals could very well look for entry and departure stamps for that country.

If there were none then it could be a big problem.

Agree... The airport are pretty comfy to hang around and clean toilets are freely available.

Hotels may be expensive in Singapore but last time I was there, I found taxis to be relatively cheap compared to everything else in the city. The train service is also inexpensive so if you don't want to spend a night in the country, take an early flight and then use the train to see a little of Singapore.
