Phuket rocked by quake in early hours

Featured Replies

Old Croc. If you are worried about future quakes you should get out of Phuket and move up to the jungle like I did. Nothing to fall on my head here except coconuts.

Must get a bit wet when it rains.

Nope that is when I like to snuggle up to my new girl, on my new bed, in my new house. Rains a lot more here than in Phuket...because here they haven't clear felled all of the big trees. Lots of birds, and lovely and cool in the evening...

I think a few scattered thunderstorms are completely unrelated. Why they're mentioned in the article, who knows?

Actually on planet Thailand, earthquakes make thunderstorms.

I heard it rather than felt it.

A long, low rumble for about 5 seconds.

I'm in Chalong.

I may have underestimated the duration. It took me a few seconds to realize what I was listening to.

Another one? Felt another light tremor for about 2-3 seconds, around 25 mins ago in Cape Panwa. Anyone else?

I am away but my wife felt one in Cherng Talay about 12:30am. Much stronger than the earlier one.

Yeah it wasn't as strong. I'm starting to get used to these things.

Hope we don't get a big one.

Yep, woke me up. I am not smiling anymore. This could be serious. 2 in less than 24 hours??

Three. There was a small one yesterday afternoon.
