Thai national faces deportation for insulting Filipinos online
Asia News Network

MANILA: -- The posts used terms such as "slave slum low class Pignoy," and said Filipinos were best suited for work as "maids and toilet lickers,"Inquirer.net reported.

The Bureau of Immigration was revising the visa status of Prasertsri Kosin, who wrote under the name Koko Narak, a spokeswoman was quoted as saying by the Sun Star online.

He would be deported if found to be undesirable, she said.

Kosin has since posted an apology. "I am very sorry what I've done or posted the racist comments," he wrote, attributing the misunderstanding to "playfulness," Inquirer.net reported.

His employer Cognizant Philippines said on its own Facebook page it had taken disciplinary action, and distanced itself from his views.

Kosin's Facebook page was not displaying any of the activities or posts on the account.

I wish the Thais deported Farangs for slagging off Thailand and Thais.

I am pretty sure that if you use the same words as this kid has and it goes viral on social media, they authorities here will deport you in a heartbeat.

This guy looks only about half an evolutionary step up from some spongy seabound organism. Every picture I see, his mouth is hanging open like he subsists on invisible airborne plankton.

I can't imagine a more moronic specimen.

With the scarcity of jobs in the PI, why is any company allowed to hire a Thai foreign worker? I can't see Cognizant needing to hire a Thai IT worker, when there are probably thousands of Filipinos that could qualify for the position.

There are all sorts of reasons why foreigners are hired to work in the Philippines. Some are hired to protect the interests or assets of foreign companies. Some are hired because of their highly specialist experience in addition to their qualifications.

As anyone who has worked in relation to Human Resources, having qualifications is not necessarily a guarantee that you can do a certain kind of job. other factors also come into play.

Besides, any foreigner over a certain age (I think it is 35 years old) can "invest" in a certain investment bond (used to be around US$20,000) and then get a retirement visa that gives them almost all the rights of a local except for voting. That includes the right to work. This was created so that Philippinos who become foreign nationals and retire from the US armed services can still come back and live and work in the Philippines without giving up their valuable USA citizenship. Of course, many foreigners take it up and work in the Philippines in all sorts of jobs or run businesses. If they decide to give up this visa, they get their bond refunded. And I think it is with interest too.

Now he's fluent in "that'll be...

100 baht thx

200 baht thx

300 baht thx

400 baht thx

etc etc

I don't know him and his rates.

For every positive story there are plenty that sow the seeds of negativism into it.

Prejudice, bigotry and hate seem to be universal.

Yes and they are better and harder workers in my experience.

Must have needed someone bigoted who would sit around and play on their mobile all day and thought 'I know'......

Absolutely brilliant description! Even here locally it's a treat to count the number of "mouth breathers" seen around. Mouth party open, waiting to catch the random soi fly.

Thai critical of Pinoys detained

MANILA: -- The Philippines' Bureau of Immigration (BI) on Tuesday detained Thai national Kosin Prasertsri – who uses Koko Narak in his Facebook account – for being an undesirable alien after he was reported to have posted on a social media community page comments insulting to Filipinos, according to Manila Bulletin.

Kosin went to the BI main office in Intramuros, Manila on Wednesday to surrender and request for voluntary self-deportation after his employer fired him over the controversy.

However, the Thai national cannot be allowed to leave the country immediately pending the issuance of the BI Board of Commissioners a voluntary deportation order.

The bureau is said to be rushing the preparation of the said document to be signed by BI Commissioner Seigfred Mison and his two deputies.

Kosin was also instructed to purchase his own plane ticket for the trip back to Thailand.

Once the deportation order is signed, Kosin will be escorted by BI operatives to the Ninoy Aquino International Airport to board his flight. He will never be allowed to return to the Philippines.

Maybe one should be deported for insulting Thailand and Thais...and also rewarded for sounding the alarm about the ill treatment of farangs by Thai nationals...given special perks for exposing corruption in commerce and government transactions...not punished for pulling back the thin veil of "Thainess" for all to see the real Thailand...
