Thai squad named for game against Chelsea in Bangkok on May 30

Thailand All-Stars coach Kiatisuk Senamuang has named an 18-man squad for the Singha Chelsea FC Celebration Match in Bangkok on Saturday 30 May.

The game at the 49,000-capacity Rajamangala Stadium, the first of two matches on our post-season trip to Asia Pacific, comes at an opportune time for our hosts. The Thal national team are gearing up for a World Cup 2018 qualifier in Taipei in June and the selection of players for the Thailand All-Stars reflects a desire by Kiatisuk to test out his available options ahead of that match.

With the Thai Under-23 side at the Southeast Asian Games in Singapore, the Thailand All-Stars will utilise a more experienced squad with players drawn entirely from clubs in the Thai Premier League.

There are a number of players from the national team that lifted the ASEAN regional title, the AFF Suzuki Cup, last December including defender Suttinun Phukhom, midfielders Adul Lahsoh and Krirkrit Thaweekarn, and forward Adisak Kraisorn.

Goalkeeper Sinthaweechai Hathairattanakool, 33, is the oldest player in the squad which also includes striker Teerasil Dangda who is regarded as one of the region’s top strikers. The 26-year-old, who had a stint at Manchester City during the 2007/08 season, missed last year’s AFF Suzuki Cup as he was on loan at Spanish side Almeria during that time.

The Singha Chelsea FC Celebration Match kicks off at 6pm at Rajamangala Stadium. The Blues will leave after the game for Australia, where they meet A-League runners-up Sydney FC at ANZ Stadium on Tuesday 2 June.

Who's playing the All-Stars Jonathon ^^? Chelsea or the famous Stockport Countylaugh.png

sic - "the first of two matches on our post-season trip to Asia Pacific"

Only one of Buriram's palyers ranks as an All-Star and most from Bangkok/Central Thailand? Such is life in this centrist country!

The last one a couple of years ago was without doubt the most dire game of football I have ever witnessed, we walked out 20 minutes before the end with the score at 0-0

Staying in the pub this time

^ Easy to get to. Use the khlang....depending on KO time, not so easy to get back from (bike taxi is best, if not safest way)smile.png

Trying to get a bike taxi with thousands of others, terrible place to have a large match

I'm sure Chelsea will be giving it their all after coming off a premiership win, partying and an open bus tour around Manchester City.

These exhibition games are really a total joke.Players wilh have zero interest, there on holidays, and especially after an escorted tour of Patpong ,Nana and Soi Cowboy

There was an endless supply last Sunday after the Thailand vs Vietnam game - and I doubt Chelsea will attract 40,500.
