Their Majesties return to Hua Hin today
THE SUNDAY NATION

BANGKOK: -- THEIR Majesties the King and Queen will leave Siriraj Hospital this afternoon for Klai Kangwon Palace in Hua Hin, the Royal Household Bureau announced yesterday.

The royal couple will rest and recuperate in an area with fresh air, the bureau said in a statement.

Members of the public were invited to greet Their Majesties along the roads where the royal motorcade will pass on its way to the palace in Prachuap Khiri Khan province.

Their Majesties are scheduled to leave the hospital at 2pm.

The signing of messages for Their Majesties at Siriraj Hospital will be cancelled from this morning onwards, the Royal Household Bureau said in its statement.

On Tuesday, the King had attended a ceremony to mark Coronation Day at the Grand Palace.

In March, Mahidol University president Dr Udom Kachintorn, who treated Their Majesties, said that the royal couple were healthy enough to be discharged from the hospital.

Meanwhile, Prachuap Khiri Khan Governor Veera Sriwattanatrakul yesterday invited local state officials to gather from 3pm along Phetkasem Road opposite the entrance to Klai Kangwon Palace. His invitation was in the form of letter marked "most urgent".

BANGKOK, 10 May 2015 (NNT) – Thousands of Thai people flock to Siriraj Hospital to greet Their Majesties the King and Queen, who are scheduled to return to Klai Kangwon Palace this afternoon.

Huge numbers of well-wishers seem oblivious to the blazing sun, scrambling for a close look of their highly-revered monarch, waving flags carrying the emblem of His Majesty the King as a gesture of love for the royal family. Many of them have camped at the hospital since yesterday to secure the best view of Their Majesties.

Their Majesties the King and Queen have been in Siriraj Hospital since late last year for thorough medical checkups. Doctors are of the opinion that it is time Their Majesties returned to their favorite Klai Kangwon Palace in Hua Hin, where the atmosphere is conducive to relaxation and recuperation.

Well-wishers in other areas are expected to show up in great numbers along the route to welcome Their Majesties back home to the palace.
