Government calls for patience on charter amendment
The Nation

BANGKOK: -- The government is urging patience as relevant units take necessary steps to complete the charter amendment process.

Deputy Minister of Defence and Army chief Udomdej Sitabutr said the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) is gathering input from committees to prepare for the next round of amendment debate. A meeting between the cabinet and the NCPO is slated for May 19 to discuss progress on the subject.

A number of political parties have requested a joint meeting with the Centre for Reconciliation and Reform (CRR). General Udomdej said the meeting is unlikely to take place and parties can express their political views through the centre, which will be considered and vetted by the government. He added that in April, politicians, academics and college students had been invited to the centre to share their views on the draft charter and ongoing reforms.

Last month, the NCPO issued a ban barring political parties from organising political activities. The army chief addressed the issue, saying parties holding rallies and talks in public at this stage will only disrupt the unity and harmony that the government has been working to forge. He urged political parties and the public to exercise patience as vital national reforms are in the process of taking effect before the draft constitution can reach its final stage.

Heated debates have been under way to discuss the newly drafted charter, which will lead to a future election as promised by the army government nearly one year ago.

It doesn't really matter what they do : the next set of dirty b******ds will find ways to circumvent/cheat/bribe/intimidate their way to get the old scams back up and running. Lackeys and cronies will be appointed and prosecutions will simply not happen.

It's the only reason they exist and they didn't get where they are today by following the spirit of any laws.

Patience sweetheart, daddy will take care of you. Everything will be allright.

The current draft 2015 constitution provides for coup institutions that gives Thailand's minority aristocracy more power than the majority electorate.

The draft is fundamentally flawed and needs to be scrapped if the nation is to move towards a "pluralistic, inclusive Thai political order that realizes egalitarian democracy in which ALL political forces respect the constitutional order." - Dr. Michael H. Nelson, German-Southeast Asian Center of Excellence for Public Policy & Good Governance, April 23, 2015.

Charter, what's Magna got to do with it -?-

But chocolate Magnums (or better yet, steel ones) are very appropriate.
