Teaching at Mae Fah Luang University

Hi folks,

Just wondering if anyone has any recent experience teaching English at Mae Fah Luang University in Chiang Rai. The only info I could find on thaivisa is from 2005 and a lot can change (for the better or worse) in that amount of time.

If anyone can provide some up-to-date information on working conditions, general atmosphere, salary, teaching load, holidays, accommodation etc., I'd be most grateful.

It is a bit far away from CR city so keep that in mind if you relocate. It is a bit far on a bike in the rainy season.

Look for a Chiang Rai expat group web site. Many teachers are members and will give you good info. Very nice university!!!!...about 40 minutes away from downtown Chiang Rai by car, and 20 minutes from Mae Sai. Beautiful area.

Beautiful Campus. The only people I know that worked there liked it but that was many years ago. I have some graduate students that studied there for undergrad and they were very good.

I think as far as Universities in the rural provinces it is pretty good.
