mr cheese Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 Could anyone help me? My girlfriend works for an airline, so she needs to have access to her passpprt on a daily basis. How does she go about applying for a visa if they require the hardcopy of her passport?
bobrussell Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 (edited) Talk it through with the airline. They have systems in place for work related travel. Most countries do not require aircrew visas for stays under 7 days. They will know if it is legal for staff members to have an additional passport for their country of nationality. It is possible and legal for British citizens to possess two valid passports but an adequate explanation is required. This is often the answer for frequent business flyers. It is advisable to fly with one passport at a time as entering with one passport may flag problems if you use the other to depart. Never switch passports within a foreign country! Some countries are unhappy to accept passports with stamps from unpopular countries and this is a way round this! Edited June 16, 2015 by bobrussell 1
7by7 Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 Maybe the Passport Pass Back Service will suit? As Bob says, she should ask her employer as well; I'm sure they've had staff in this position before.
mr cheese Posted June 18, 2015 Author Posted June 18, 2015 Cheers for the feedback. Her employer, very successful airline beginning with 'Q', but infamous for treatment of staff, has thus far offered NO support or guidance.
brewsterbudgen Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 As 7by7 has said, use their 'passport pass back service'.
Upnotover Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 Or for only £600 extra the 24 Hours - Super Priority Visa Service
mr cheese Posted June 18, 2015 Author Posted June 18, 2015 Ha! Yeah, I saw that ridiculous figure. If it costs that much, we'll bin the whole trip.
