What is the difference between Collard Greens and Kale ?

What the Thais call kale is actually collard greens. Not sure where the confusion comes from. Different laguage translatios?

Kana is certainly collards. Been eating them all my life.

I believe Collard Greens are the same as Kale.

As far as I know, Kale is called Collard Greens only in the Southern States of the USA - it's Kale everywhere else.
