Is Craigslist Thailand being blocked?

Featured Replies

Great no problem even through the AIS 3g on my iphone and I am 50K north of KK

Gonna hit the m4t personals OP?

Why not? He may find you on there.cheesy.gif

Your IP appears to be going through a proxy server and that proxy server is marked as a known spam source. smile.png Though it is not clear if it is a transparent proxy server or anonymous server. If craiglist uses a block list then Crossy's comment may be correct.

I got blocked when using VPN, so removed that route and just simple Thai location gets Craigslist TH no problem.

Research’s on personal or women seeking men shows empty results

Did it really take them years to find out that certain categories were full of open advertising for prostitution, showing nude and porn pics?

Or has there been a formal complaint from a Thai authority (threatening to close down the whole site)?

Seems like they have cut/closed/deleted a whole group of categories for the Bangkok version.

VPN trumps everything.  If you still have a problem then fine tune your VPN.  Easily done if you know what you're doing.

There is a new US law which they are afraid off, has nothing to do with Thailand

Did do nothing with a US VPN.

Looks like @jackdd has the right hint.

Would also be useless then because the "advertisers" would hardly know how to handle.

Must be new really.

Not sure when I last saw this site.

Maybe two (?) weeks ago and the shady content was still there.

If it's still available in the US then it's available via VPN.  If not, then VPN is obviously useless.

But, if it's available in the US and not immediately available via VPN then it takes some tweaking in VPN options.

To avoid misunderstanding: bangkok.craigslist.co.th can be opened with a US VPN but it shows the same content as with the Thai IP addr.

The objectionable categories are gone.

No VPN needed Jomtien TOT. Yes as I posted on my thread about the topic, the personals sections are now gone internationally as was done before on the U.S. site.

All hail the all seeing JT.  Jeez.  Sorry, I didn't shift through thousands of posts to see your previous post.  Blimey.
