Visas to Malesia for a Thai

Featured Replies

Hi, searched a bit forum, found some old posts that thais dont need visas to malesia/penang, is it still acctual?

thank you

K.

As of about 2 years ago Thais did not need a visa, they got it on arrival.

Thai people don't need a visa to enter Malaysia but may still need to satisfy an officer at the border that they are a genuine visitor and that they are likely to leave Malaysia at the conclusion of their visit.

My, Thai, partner and I visited last month and she wasn't asked anything more than "how long is your visit".

As said can stay up to 30 days without visa but could be requested to show departing ticket - normally not a problem and a nice mini vacation while foreigner getting Thai visa.

Usually u get 30 days but theres another option for getting a 90 day visa at the border for about 8000 baht and if you go through sadao border not a problem

My Thai wife and I went to Malaysia for our honeymoon at the end of June. No problem or questions at the border (KLIA).
