How will the new alcohol laws affect Hua Hin

Featured Replies

I saw someone post a similar question in the Phuket forum and thought about it for Hua Hin.

I'm still not sure how well this will be enforced but the new laws which prevent the sale of alcohol near educational institutions has been issued under Article 44 so perhaps they are serious.

People said they wouldn't clear the umbrellas off the beaches and they did. Only time will tell I guess.

Anyway...

There is a school not all that far from Soi Bintabaht and using a very rough estimate on Google Maps, if the law is actually enforced maybe about half of Soi Bintabaht would no longer be able to sell alcohol.

Sure that school is for small kids which may be exempt (or not, unless you can decipher the announcements)

I don't think it applies to junior schools . And so it shouldn't they all go home by 4pm.

Ooohhh, interesting question - some Hua Hin Expats might eventually sober up and realize what a $-hole they've chosen as their home... cheesy.gif

i interpreted it that it only applied to universities and colleges. is that not the case?
