PM thanks Thais for participating in “Bike For Mom”

BANGKOK, 17 August 2015 (NNT) - Prime Minister Gen Prayuth Chan-o-cha gave thanks to the people of Thailand who participated in yesterday’s “Bike for Mom” event.


Former PM Office Deputy Spokesman Maj Gen Sansern Kaewkamnerd conveyed the premier's gratitude to those who participated in yesterday’s nationwide “Bike For Mom” event, which was organized to show reverence to the royal family and foster national solidarity.

The Prime Minister hailed the event as a success in accordance with the wishes of Crown Prince Vajiralongkorn and an impressive historical event for the country.

Maj Gen Sansern revealed that the event unfolded in an orderly manner without major accidents, thanks to cooperation from all sides.

Press asks permission to cover CDC's final report on new charter

BANGKOK, 17 August 2015 (NNT) - The press has asked the Constitution Drafting Committee (CDC) to allow the media to cover the CDC’s final hearing session on the new constitution in order to fulfill the CDC’s agenda of encouraging public participation in politics.

2015 National Science Week kicks off

PATHUM THANI, 17 August 2015 (NNT) – The National Science Museum (NSM) is now inviting youths to attend the National Science Week exhibition, which starts today at the Science Museum in Pathum Thani.


The NSM’s Vice President Sakorn Chanapaithoon has said that the 2015 National Science Week exhibition is now taking place at the Science Museum in Pathum Thani from 17-23 August 2015.

He has said that youth and their parents are invited to attend this event that showcases interesting scientific and technological knowledge that is portrayed in an entertaining manner, to promote the youth to learn more in science and technology. The young participants can also participate in various competitions, such as science contest, drawing contest, young innovation and invention contest, science project contest, and even a science performance contest.

The event also features the ‘Play and Learn’ exhibition, featuring Thai toys and a demonstration of the science behind their production, allowing the participants to create their own toys. Other activities include astronomy bingo, fun with drones, and the wonders of light.

Rajaprasong explosion death toll rises to at least 12

BANGKOK: -- The death toll has risen to 12 and at least 30 people are injured in the explosion at Rajaprasong Intersection occurred around 7pm today while police have confirmed there is still one more bomb to be defused near Gaysorn Plaza.

UPDATE:

A powerful bomb exploded at 6.55 pm in front of the Erawan shrine near Ratchaprasong intersection killing at least 12 people, and injuring about 70.

BANGKOK: -- Most of the casualties are Chinese tourists visiting the Erawan shrine which is at the Pensinsula Erawan Hotel.
