Maximum security prisoner Stephen Jamieson ties bed sheets together, climbs jail wall to escape from Goulburn prison

(ABC NEWS) A maximum security prisoner has escaped from Goulburn Correctional Centre after tying bed sheets together to climb over a jail wall.

Stephen Jamieson, 28, had been in segregation after being identified as a suspect over the discovery of a man-made hole in the floor which was found in the prison earlier this month.

Jamieson was last seen at about 12:50pm Tuesday and was wearing prison greens at that time.

He had been in custody since 2013 and is serving 12 years in prison for armed robbery.

NSW Corrective Services Commissioner Peter Severin said the prisoner escaped after he cut through a metal gate at the back of a small secure exercise yard that is attached to each segregation cell.

Just wondering whether a seamstress or a cook helped him escape and whether is was also ' well endowed"

and a great lover?

Not exactly the James Bond style fiasco that happened in the States.

Cut through a metal gate at the back of the exercise yard, throw a line of bedsheets over the wall and head off to root the missus/closest kangaroo.

Maybe the man made hole was a ploy to get him into segregation to execute his master plan.

You got to go a long way to beat Guzman's escape in Mexico. A red carpet escape.

He has since been recaptured.

Where does one escape to in Australia? In the States you at least have a fighting chance to make it to the Mexican border and beyond.

Poor guy ...

Inside jail he had better human conditions then those outside without work or on pension.

He must be very confused person...

No wander this days a more and more of Aussies are confused ...
