Clearly RTP & Immigration would have facial recognition software that far more advanced.

Even a "free" tool such Picasa (also Google) has very accurate facial recognition Or an advanced product like Cognitec would find the face in a crowd..

Out of the 100,000s of photos I have Picasa will accurately identify faces - the only inaccurate result it ever showed was identifying my friend's daughter as the mum, but hey they look very similar.

I'm sure Government organisations would have access to very accurate facial recognition software..

and you can bet your left one on teh fact that Thailand would have access to NSA\CIA software to track faces!

I noticed in the video that he was not particularly tall. The two men standing in front of him (in the red and white shirts) appear to be somewhat taller. As everyone in that crowd was Asian and he did not stand out as being tall, I would expect him to be about 170cm (5'7'ish).

So that pretty much rules out he's a redshirt. (Along with technical details of the bomb, and the indiscriminate murderous/terrorist intent; it's not beyond them to meddle with glorified fireworks against specific political targets and then usually at night when nobody is there. Everything about this is different.)

I also wouldn't call hand grenades and grenade launchers glorified fireworks. The motive seems to be to damage the economy and Thaksin's mob is the only one that would really benefit from that. This could very well be a small radicalised group of reds fed up with a lack of progress and taking it to the next level. Same goes for the southerners, although that seems doubtful to me as the southern groups were quick to disown the bomb that more radical members of their group set in, I think, Phuket and would have thought they would have done the same if this was a southerner.

All we can gather from the sketch is he is Asian in appearance, because of the eyes. I don't see how anyone can be ruled out at this point, with the exception of most Africans.
