Off to the airport next week and will have a few hours to kill. Anything around Suvi to do without going into the city?

The huge MEGA BANG NA mall is a 15 minute taxi ride...has Ikea as well as all the major chains.

Taxi's from the regular taxi line wont want to go there because it's a short run and they've invested time waiting.

Go to departures and grab a taxi dropping off there. Just tell the security you go to shopping mall.

Not a constructive answer: but why not take the rail link and drive to the city. So easy.

(you seem to have no baggage to carry around)

Also an open air mall 'the Paseo' about 5 min drive from airport on Lat Krabang Rd

Has Starbucks , coffee world , villa supermarket, along with about 20 other resteraunts...

Also has a Thai traditional massage place inside ...

Should be fine to kill a couple of hours

Although with other poster, get a taxi at arrivals... As is only a 60-70 thb fair...

So not worth the time of the down stairs taxi, who may have been waiting in line for hours for a fair

If you re-read the OP, it specifically stated they didn't want to go into the city.

Also, while the Rail Link itself is quick and efficient, somebody with only a couple of hours could find most of that time eaten up going and coming back.

If you happen to get to the platform just after a train has departed, the wait can be 20 minutes+ for the next one. Then a 20 to 30 minute trip into town. Add to this the need to change to either the BTS or MRT to get to any of the major malls...maybe 20 minutes more.

Just how much shopping time remains before they have to reverse the process and return to the airport?
