Thai - Cambodia Conflict Thai Army Threatens Action: Cambodian Landmine Triggers Fury
Hang on a minute, Cambodia has ratified the Ottawa Convention to stop the use on anti personnel mines. Why is nothing being said about a ratified country planting anti personnel mines? -

Updates and events in the War in Ukraine 2025
That column is totally bogus because it mentions that Ukraine should get it's goal of an unshakeable place in the community of European democracies, with the military and economic guarantees from the West that make that place secure. Putin is not offering to allow anything of the kind! As far as land, the article is disingenuous. Ukraine has been very clear that an ultimate peace solution could include acceptance of current Russian occupation but never acknowledging it as permanent or legitimate. Yes we all know the Zelenskyy was previously a very successful entertainer. So what? -

Crime DSI Probes Disputed Land at Khao Kradong in Buriram
Picture courtesy of Khaosod. The Department of Special Investigation (DSI) has intensified its probe into the ownership and land title issuance of a vast tract of land covering 5,083 rai at Khao Kradong, Buriram Province, including 670 rai held by 10 private entities and individuals. The investigation involves a complex land dispute linked to the State Railway of Thailand (SRT) and multiple government agencies. The land, originally allocated to the SRT for railway construction and rock extraction for the Northeastern railway line, has become the subject of prolonged legal battles. Over time, several residents have occupied or leased plots, with some reportedly seizing land without proper authority. The SRT has previously initiated eviction and legal actions against unlawful occupants, winning all court cases to reclaim the land. The disputed area also encompasses approximately 1,000 rai occupied by 12 government agencies, including local administrative offices, the Department of Highways, the Treasury Department, provincial educational and correctional facilities, the Provincial Waterworks Authority, the National Telecom and various municipal bodies. These agencies reportedly hold land rights related to public utilities, roads, schools, temples and infrastructure projects. The DSI’s investigation includes reviewing documents and testimonies, coordinating with agencies such as the Land Department, the SRT and Buriram provincial authorities to clarify land titles and ownership claims. The department emphasises that while individuals currently holding legal land titles retain their rights unless titles are revoked, authorities continue efforts to resolve encroachments and irregularities. According to the Department of Provincial Administration, around 7,600 residents live within the disputed 5,083 rai, spread across seven villages and approximately 4,700 households. The land in question includes 484 titled plots and 511 certified usage rights, totalling 995 parcels. This extensive inquiry underscores the challenges in managing public land and balancing development needs with local residency and administrative oversight. The DSI has vowed to pursue a thorough, multi-agency approach to bring clarity and resolution to the longstanding dispute at Khao Kradong.
