My Py (bamboo) Sheets

Featured Replies

I used to buy these at Supercheap. They are bamboo woven sheets about 1.5 x 2.5 metres, and used to put on the ceiling of 'rustic' restaurants.

Supercheap has sold out of these and they can't say when they will have new stock! I need to buy about 6 sheets.

I have seen some larger woven sheets, but they look too 'rustic'. Also, there are sheets interwoven with a darker bamboo to form a pattern. But the type I'm after have no pattern (other than the cross-weave of the bamboo 'slats')

Anyone help??

Thanks

Simon

If you don't mind waiting, I will check with my staff. I learned that their family do these woven sheets. I'll get back to you.

Besides, I think correct spelling is Mai Pai. :-)

For those that don't know, Supercheap in Phuket must be the worlds largest, entirely wooden, mom and pop store. Amazing place....just thought I'd add that, sorry can't help with the question.

Well, I would say there is no correct English spelling, since it's a transliteration :o So ไม้ไผ่ is maybe a better way to spell it :D

From Chalong circle take the Phuket Town road.

After traffic lights for the Ao Makham turn-off, keep going straight towards town, at about 100-300m on the right side there is a shop run by an old Thai couple (no speak English).

It doesn't have a shop front, just a rustic bamboo roof, and many types of bamboo-ish items.

If you are at Dowroong school then you have passed them.

Hope the directions are clear enough for you and good luck in your find.
