Lost Passport

Featured Replies

Police report then embassy as stated above, if British be prepared for an interrogation about how and why you lost it.

...and if Turkish, just pop down KSR and get a new one tonight, no police report, no interrogations, nada.

Get an official Police report of the loss.

Then contact your Embassy.

Contact your Embassy first, they tell you what they need exactly from the police and which police station is farang friendly....

I had lost mine for A week.It was found.I just used A photo copy to fly and didn't have any problems. But cntact you embassy.

And of course always have photo copies.1st thing I do when I get A new passport.

Thrilled, Travelling on a Photo copy... was this for international travel or internal flights?

I make a point also of having a good scan of my passport That I copy to:

  • My PC
  • My laptop
  • My Phone
  • My cloud back up

I am still sceptical on you being able to travel on a photo copy, though if you are British you can return on a expired passport.

Maybe in a few years passports will too be in the clouds, or something similar maybe a system run by participating countries where you details are kept on national computers, when you arrive at passport control you scan a barcode or QR code that allows the officer to get immediate passport info and a picture of you without the need for a passport.

You can travel domestically in Thailand on a copy... Some silly fool had we scan and email his to the airport because he forgot it..

Fool or Tool?

I wonder about the need for a passport in general, domestically. For a flight I get it..
