Pheu Thai calls for interim charter amendments to allow public participation in charter drafting
The Nation

BANGKOK: -- The Pheu Thai Party Thursday issued a statement, calling on the junta to amend the interim constitution to allow public participation in drafting a new constitution.

The Pheu Thai said the road map of the National Council for Peace and Order for drafting and enacting the new constitution would not allow the people to participate in the process.

The party said public decisions are needed for bringing about reconciliation so it the interim charter should be amended to allow public participation in the charter drafting process.

For example, the party said, the interim charter might be amended to require the establishment of a constitution drafting assembly to ensure that the new draft would be democratic.

so now these clowns want to take part, personally I think they should have nothing to do with it, they have had years to make positive changes in Thailand and they have done nothing except thieve and try to get amnesty for Thaksin

One way or another your cheating days are over - if I had my way you'd all be locked up and never allowed to stand for election again..........ever

The CDC took in all proposals and suggestions from NRC committees. Those committees has asked for broad participation and input from all. Some selected none-obstruction by none-cooperation. Some were really surprise that the NRC accepted their decision and started work without them.

It would seem that there is no reason for a modification of the Interim Charter. It's more important that the NRC committees which prepare proposals and suggestions get full cooperation from people and even politicians. In the drafting itself you need more legal / law minded people. As such common people are less useful and actually neither Generals (Army, Navy, Airforce or Police).
