Heard the back road from 331to Ban Chang has been 'cut' but at the moment unconfirmed.

It certainly is, I tried to get to Ban Chang a few hours ago via the back road from 331/332 and it was blocked

I have a birds eye view of Pattaya Bay from my condo in Markland, last night around 6pm there was the loudest thunder I have ever heard. Here is a little YouTube video from my balcony.

I also have a webcam so you can tune in any time, http://fivestarvagabond.com/pattaya-webcam/

That's nothing compared to East Pattaya Darkside las nite. Water was waist high in parts of Khanoi. I even saw a bed floating down the hill towards the railway.

I don't think anyone woz asleep in it.

At least some working girls are dedicated to their jobs gigglem.gif

Bargirls do what bargirls do......................hahahaha! Rain in bkk does keep customers away and also the girls.

Give that girl instant promotion an a rise. (An I don't mean just above the water).

That's a very fast current! Does anyone know where that was?

The gf showed me the same video earlier - said it was Soi Khaonoi (apologies for spelling).

The gf has just showm me a picture of a tree down across the road opposite the back of Big C Second Road and the warehouse place that sells pretty much everything.

On Third road an hour ago near Mum Aroi officials were letting coaches and trucks through but redirecting cars - has been raining constantly here since before 1pm so maybe impassable by now.

It's bad. Nobody in our 8 year old village has ever seen flooding like this. Most houses are either flooded or inches away. We're out sandbagging now....

Posted (edited)

And this, worst ever flooding after the Mayor ? of Pattaya said no more

annually for 5 years . What is even worse are the big businesses, along

Beach RD. - Central Mall, Amari, Holiday INN, Hilton, paying millions

in taxes, watching millions of profits , literally, going down the drain

& not tar and feathering the city administation !

How do you figure?

They have water pumps set up down on beach rd on both sides of Central Festival and possibly a few other places to drain the water from beach rd over the footpath into the ocean. From what I saw this morning they must have worked. Everything drained and the footpath has not washed away like last time there was flooding. I don't think there is any easy and inexpensive short term way to avoid flooding when there is this much volume of water falling from the sky.

The 7 going in and out of Pattaya at the junction with the 36 is not passable. Big pond has filled it up and it is blocked off. You can get off on the 36 exit and do a big U turn and inch back on to it. Coming into Pattaya it is backed up for about 40 minute wait until you can turn off at the 36.

Sukhumvit can't handle the water as it is. What a brilliant idea to put tunnels in to drain the water drive cars through.

The Jet Ski scam will take over the new Tunnels, or Pattaya will sell Ferry tickets to cross over to the other side.

Here's a picture of the 7 at about 16:30. Sorry, was driving (about 5 km/h) so could not get a better shot. That's the inbound lane.

Have to drive Rayong => Bangkok. Intend to take # 36 than #7 and the Motorway.

Anybody knows the conditions? Mainly concerned with deep water.

Thanks.

Saw a photo in the BKK based newspaper which name we are not allowed to mention here.

On the photo, the entrance to the new underpass had turned into a big swimming pool.

Traffic is backed up just before you get to the 7. It looked like the frontage road was being used around the intersection toward Bangkok until it lets you out onto the 7.

The 7 under the 36 overpass is flooded, both directions.

Well, we're completely flooded. Everybody in the village has been evacuated. And for good reasons.

A HUGE shout out to the Thai rescue squad. What an amazing group of dedicated professionals. I've got my 90 year old mother with late stage Alzheimer's. They were fantastic dealing with her. Which is not easy. A group of about 7 came to our house, in waist deep water, head lamps on, and carried her out. Took my wife, me and the care giver out also in their huge (and high) truck.

I can't describe how emotional it is to see your beautiful house flooded about 10 inches deep. Everything ruined. We worked our butts off trying to keep things dry. But to no avail. Others are in even worse shape with water over the beds.

I've read about people dealing with floods over the years. It's a horrible thing to experience. Yesterday at my friend's house in Pattaya till late. Today at my house...all day. I'm beat and at a local "no tell motel" down the road. Me, my wife and the dog. Dog was not allowed at the Ambassador, but mom is there with the caregiver. Actually, quite a nice room for 2,200B!

What a fricking nightmare.

I am very sorry to hear that but also surprised since the rain now is much lesser than last night? sad.png

I hope your insurance will pay for everything including the hotels.
