Sorry can't give you an answer on the car park. I drove to the Tesco at On Nut and parked there and took BTS the rest of the way.

Yes its easy. Turn left off the north side of Sukhumvit into soi 13. After 200 metres you will see Trendy building on your right. Go further to the end of the buiding and the car park entrance is marked and will already be spotted,

The first few floors are reserved for tenants and condo owners and protected from entry by barriers. Signs indicate which floor you need to go to park as a public customer. It's about floor 5. That public parking floor is open to all. Take your entry ticket into VFS and get it stamped. Your parking will not be free but it's only about 50 baht for VFS customers.

Info is 6 months old. Can't guarantee they have not decided to up the parking, but it is very convenient. Lifts take you down to the lobby where you first register that you have an appointment and are then instructed to go up to the VFS floor. Clearance is not great but the standard SUV will make it provided it has no roof box.

Tesco at OnNut. I have a condo 400 metres away (but live Isaan village mostly). I thought that there is a maximum free stay of 2 hours there and then it's like 100baht an hour (they may even charge for the first 2 hours if you overstay I don't know). Mind you you should be able to do VFS and back within 3 (2 if you are lucky) parking at OnNut and using the adjacent BTS OnNut station (37 baht single fare), so maybe it is preferable. Get off at Nana BTS and walk back west up Sukhumvit (5-10 min walk). It will certainly save you time if your journey is from the E, NE or SE. Driving time for Tesco OnNut to VFS can be as much as 1.5 hours and is usually about an hour. Tesco OnNut is only one minute from the Sukhumvit soi 50 ramp on the southbound lane of Chaloern-Rat freeway (Ram Intra to Bangna) and soi 50 (the location of TL's car-park) is also quickly accessible from the Bangna Trat to Chonburi freeway (either direction).

On timing, it's all a question of where you are coming from. If you have wife plus kids with you then drive to Trendy! Just leave plenty of time. There's a decent coffee bar at the front right of the lobby with free wi-fi for the wife/kids (and you of course but being a falang you are probably more tolerant of lack of facilities).

Back-up plan if Trendy's car park is unaccountably full. Times Square on the westbound lane of Sukhumvit about 300 metres from Asoke.

Comprehensive, or what?!

parking at tesco lotus on nut is not free. first 2 hours or so are free. but you need a stamp for longer. so buy some milk and get a stamp if you are longer than 2 hours.

when coming into Bkk from up country, people have given solid advice. park the car at known location. Tesco is great cause it is covered parking. its a bitch to leave it out in the sun. (coming from up country, people already know that I guess). There are other car parks. at the end of BTS lines - Mo Chit, and such have parking. Also Asoke / Rama 4 has parking. also Asoke Rama 9.

Once in the city use the BTS MRT taxi and motorcy to get around.

Invariably this saves time, although it may cost a bit more. plus you dont have to worry about locating places, traffic, parking etc.

In the past, I have used Taxi drivers for a day. I speak Thai and chat with them on a first trip. If they are amicable and their face is on the license and they are wearing the blue shirt and shoes and has a cell phone, and.... I get a good feeling... I have hired them for the day. 9 to 3 for example. And I explain where I want to go and where they wait. I pay 30% up front and remainder at end of the day. I paid anywhere from 300 to 800 - Depending on how much ground I need to cover. The HUGE plus is that I had a driver who knew the locations I had to go and could get me there... stay nearby.... be ready with a phone call. Several times we had lunch together and it was a pleasant experience. For example - visit US Embassy, go to BOI up Asoke, out to Dept Biz Promotion in Bangna, into an office in Sathorn, and up to Labor office. That was one helluva day!

should've said walk back east up sukhumvit

Thanks ... very detailed. Actually we only live a few kms from the Sirat Expresway, Chaeng Wattana access so quite easy to get to Suk ... Mrs JAS knows BK quite well anyway.

It's actually to collect her new UK Passport. When we went two or three weeks ago we took a taxi to Bang Sue and then MRT/BTS, coming back we took the BTS to Mo Chit and then a taxi home.

I have just one little concern that although the phone call to advise her passport was ready, was to her, the e-mail sent to advise collection of her new passport said MR ..... ..... and not Mrs .... .... wow I hope that it was a typo. Surly we don't have to go through completing a new application form, copying both passports again, getting new photos countersigned etc etc .... and then arguing who's is at fault and who will pay !!!!!!!!!!

We will go tomorrow.... thanks

Drove there this morning ... it took 30mins to drive the 300ish metres from the expressway down to Suk rd! Parking at Trendy is easy ... level 5 ... and one hour is free providing you get the ticket stamped.

Definately BTS from Mo Chit in future

The Sportsman bar and restaurant is right next to the entrance to the car park at the far end of Trendy building. Any customers at the Sportsman get unlimited free parking in Trendy. Just pop in and get the parking card BEFORE parking car especially if leaving car overnight or you will end up paying over 2000 baht! Alternatively, park your car and order food or drink at the Sportsman and we will stamp your ticket for 2 hours free parking and 30 baht per hour after. The bar is open from 8am to 2am every day.

URGENT!

So there IS parking at trendy.

Can anyone tell me the height clearance...is it 2 meters or over?

I don't know specific measurements but if you can get your car into any normal car park in Bangkok you can get it into The Trendy's.
