Thai boats fish illegally in Vietnamese waters, ordered to leave

VIETNAM: -- Thanh Nien News reported that Vietnam on Wednesday issued warnings to three Thai boats for fishing illegally in Vietnamese waters off the southern coast.

The boats were spotted by marine police and officers of the Ca Mau Fishery Resources Protection Agency at around 10am, about 15 nautical miles northwest of Vietnam’s DK10 oil rig.

The Thai captains on the boats confessed that they left Thailand on Sept 20 to fish in Vietnamese waters, Tuoi Tre reported.

Vietnam’s marine police have documented the violations and escorted the three boats out of Vietnamese waters after issuing official warnings.

Col Doan Bao Tuyet, a marine police officer, said Vietnamese police deal with violations based on the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea and Vietnam’s Marine Law.

Earlier on September 17, Vietnam’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs demanded Thailand investigate a shooting of Vietnamese fishermen who went fishing in Thai waters. One of them was killed while two others were injured.

In any circumstances, Vietnam strongly condemns inhuman treatment and the use or threat to use force on Vietnamese fishermen, said the foreign ministry spokesperson Le Hai Binh.

Thailand must properly compensate for human and property losses while preventing similar incidents, to avoid negative impacts on the two countries’ strategic partnership, Binh said.

Let them taste their own medicin, only way to get the attention of these "uber-menschen" ... blink.png

Breaking news: Thailand says it's all a misunderstanding as no Thai would ever do such a thing.

Maybe the Vietnamese could apply some Thainess...........as the Thai's did to the Vietnamese fisherman!.......but I think the Viet's are more civilised.

Amazing.

The Vietnamese come all the way to Thailand to fish and the Thais go all the way to Vietnam to fish.

Why can't they simply fish their own waters?

The grass is always greener ...... rolleyes.gif

Communist Vietnam...showing their Military/Democratic neighbor how to act responsibly without violence...

Thai Navy actions...taking journalists to court for telling the truth...being involved in corrupt maritime activities...and killing and injuring civilian fishermen...

What's next to show the world what they are made of?

Maybe time for some new blood at the top of the Navy Command heap...

Amazing.

The Vietnamese claimed to have been fishing in their own Waters while the thais confessed to fishing in VN Waters ...

Thainess as usual ...

That's a turn about. Just recently when unarmed Vietnamese fishermen were caught fishing in Thai waters they were gunned down. Seems the Vietnamese are not so trigger happy as the Thais who live by the law of the gun in every respect of society.

The brakes failed and they kept on traveling.

90 days to go for ASEAN Community and already the current government has established itself as the Hub of a Bully.

What's next, RTN gunfire on Vietnam and Cambodia navies to show how they should fear Thailand? Prayut better be careful - they have SUBMARINES.
