BANGKOK, 5 October 2015 (NNT)-The Deputy Finance Minister will represent Thailand in the 2015 Annual Meetings of the Boards of Governors of the World Bank Group (WB) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Peru this Friday.

Deputy Finance Minister Wisut Srisuphan and representatives from 188 other countries around the world will join the meetings held to address issues concerning poverty, national development, regional and global economies.

Both the WB and the IMF will announce policies that are aimed at providing financial support to poor nations and promoting their economic growth. Mr. Wisut is also scheduled to attend another meeting organized only for members of South East Asian nations.

He will also discuss the possibility of establishing bilateral cooperation with the WB as well as Japanese financial organizations and those from the ASEAN region.

It will be a good opportunity for Thailand to promote correct understanding about the current political situation, the Thai economy and what the Thai government is planning to do to improve the country.
