Yingluck to appeal lawsuit dismissal by Criminal Court

BANGKOK, 7 October 2015 (NNT) - Former Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra will appeal the Criminal Court’s decision to turn down her lawsuit against the Attorney General.

Ms Yingluck’s lawyer, Norrawit Larlaeng, made a post to his Facebook page, saying his client will definitely be appealing the Criminal Court’s decision.

The former premier filed a lawsuit against the Attorney General, alleging bias and misconduct in its handling of the rice-pledging case. The Criminal Court dismissed the case on the grounds of insufficient evidence.

Mr Norrawit claimed that the Criminal Court did not consider evidence submitted by his team, including evidence of meetings between the National Anti-Corruption Commission and the Attorney General's Office.

Yingluck to appeal after first court rejected her case

BANGKOK: -- Former prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra will appeal her case against the former attorney-general and three other state prosecutors to the Appeal Court after the first court dropped her case yesterday.

Her lawyer Norrawit Larlaeng posted on his Facebook page today that Ms Yingluck has insisted to appeal her case as she felt the rejection of her case by the Criminal Court could discourage her to present important evidences that have been well prepared to defend herself.

One of such evidences was the meeting of the joint committee comprising the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) and the Attorney-General, he said.

She insisted to exercise her right to appeal in accordance with the justice system, the lawyer said.

In her lawsuit filed against former attorney-general Trakul Winitnaiyapak and three prosecutors, Ms Yingluck claimed irregularities in her indictment by the Supreme Court in relation to the rice-pledging scheme.

As The Nation reported, She stated that Mr Trakul and the prosecutors had charged her with malfeasance over the rice scheme despite knowing that their case against her had loopholes that required more investigation.

She accused him of framing her because the NACC had not included corruption among her alleged offences but he had.

She also accused him of unlawfully filing over 60,000 pages of evidence even though these documents were not discussed during the joint investigation.

But the Criminal Court said it did not find Mr Trakul commit any offence as she claimed.

Instead it pointed out that the former attorney-general had filed charges with the Supreme Court’s Criminal Division for Political Office Holders that clearly stated that the NACC had determined that she had committed offences.

It then rejected her case reasoning that her suit only cited interviews by the media with no documental evidence to prove.

No his client will not. HE will be filing the appeal in an effort to continue milking the old cow for all it's worth.

Just make sure the cheque clears before starting this appeal, Khun Norrawit, you might find your client (and her boss) isn't as honest as you make out!

Me thinks it's time for you to go back and continue growing your mushrooms Mrs. Y. You have a target on your head and the people behind it have a good aim.

Well done YS, quick response and not taking any of this c*ap without a fight or two. Yawn or three, did Ginjock say something?

Yes, don't the court know who she is? Don't they know who her brother is?

Ironic that a PM who chose to ignore, and publicly say she would ignore, court rulings she didn't like now wants the courts to do as she says when she's not PM.

Wonder what she really knows about any of this? Bit like Lady Jane Grey - used, abused and manipulated by others without really knowing what the adverse consequences could be,

Removed a post (and a reply) that claimed others were paid to post. If you have any actual evidence please forward it to support. If it's just a lame debating tactic, further references like that may find you without posting rights.

Other nonsense posts and replies have been removed

Quite right she's filing an appeal.....the case should have been dismissed on the grounds of being moronically stupid enough to claim such utter crap.
