is the tap water safe in patong?

Featured Replies

Even the thais do not drink from the tap. You make your own conclusion.

Great way to lose a few pounds.

Answer: safe to bathe in ( although....) but absolutely not to drink.

Much depends on the source of the tap water. Many different ways that a hotel/guesthouse/rental get their water. Rule of thumb - don't drink tap water.

Cos I usually spit it out during/after brushing, then rinse with bottled water. I've always brushed my teeth with tap water no matter my geographic location, and I have been in some dubious African countries.

I've been drinking out of the tap for the last 5 years and apart from losing nearly all my hair and half my teeth I'm okay. Go for it. It's cheaper than buying bottled tap water at the supermarkets
