Extend tourist visa, which office less hassle?

Featured Replies

I need to extend a tourist visa by 30 days, and am interested which office is less hassle, and any info on what are they asking for these days ? Thanks in advance.

It's 1,900 Baht for any extension. Plus copies and photos. I'm not sure if the Patong office does extensions now, but they always seem to come up with some kind of extra fee.

Yes, Patong does the tourist 30 day extension. I would expect it would be 'less hassle' at the Patong office. If you bring all your passport copies and photos then why should there be any extras ?

Mind you Patong office can be a bit chaotic as it is small and cramped. The very front desk does the 30 day extensions, back desk does the 90 day reporting.

Thank you and copies of the passport, and visa presumably but anything else? I've heard lease although why a tourist would have a lease... ?? Tickets out, anything like that ? Anyone done this lately?

Thanks for this heads up on parking hadn't thought of it so I'll take the motorcycle.

^^ If you have a car and show up around 0930, you can usually find free parking opposite Banana Walk. After 1000 there is usually parking available about 200-300 m past immigration at 20B/30 minutes.

Never had any problem parking the car on the beach road about 50m before Bangla Rd end any time in the morning. But don't bother trying to park at the Loma Park area, always full of tuk tuks and taxis.

M/bike can usually be parked in the so called immigration car park.

The farang woman is NOT a immigration volunteer but a TPV ( Tourist Police Volunteer)

Normally she works next door at the TPV office but likes to pretend to be important at the immigration office.

Best just to ignore her and don't listen to her advise as most of what she says is wrong anyway.

Thanks all, for the (courteous) responses.

Where is this Patong Imm office ? It's on the beach road seaside, correct? Sort of centrally located relative to beach the but a bit toward the north?

I'm not familiar with Patong but are there any easily recognized businesses nearby?

Thanks for this. Bangla being the walking street with all the bars?

Definitely the Patong Immigration Office. It's smaller, but a lot quicker.

Thank you, too.

Not worried about quickness, though. Worried about officers that want to make it hard for me because, well just because they can.
