Eating Out In HH Problem

Recommended Posts

I made a similar kind of thread in the health board but I need some help from fellow Hua Hin residences

I have psoriasis and certain foods trigger flare ups on my skin really badly, things with any refined sugar in, basically any meat bar fish, bread, tomatoes, alcohol, potatoes and anything fried, also I have to eat brown rice and not white. Considering this I have adopted a very clean diet despite loving say red meats and everything above. My question is this; I like to go out and eat and socialise, I can maintain this diet easily from home, but restaurants or little places to eat I tend to find really hard to accommodate this type of diet. Any ideas or advice??

Cheers

wow... i have almost given up on my low carb diet in HH.

everything is so limited in HH and to go at random and expect to find what you need, plus the language barrier, hard to do.

if you go to soi 88 food court, on the northeast corner, you can get a whole grilled fish with some raw vegetables for 150 baht.

Thais love sugar, it is in everything here. :(

And tomatoes in most of the spicy salads.

if you stick with expensive tourist hotels with good English skills maybe you will find what you need.

sorry if no help here.

haha yeah I used to live up on BonGai sou 88 and Thais love sugar like crazy I know after being here for 5 years without heading home, even the bread is sugared!

Anyway because I sued to live up in Soi 88 a couple of years ago I have seen it grow from having say 8 tables to a huge food court. I walk around it so tempted to buy a pitcher of beer, some Indian curry maybe or a pizza, but I know the next few weeks I will have a skin late up big time. I can handle spice, or shall I say I used to be able to but over the years my digestive system has gone to pot and even half of a Thai chilli will give me cramps! I like spicy food as well but it' just a nono, I would prefer to eat clean and walk about my day to day life without red flakey sin on mu head and arms / legs

I just need to find a cozy semi quiet place that sells salads without sugared dressings, no dairy and that has wifi, then I would be golden.

Thanks for your input though and you may have even seen me at BonGai food court, I am wearing a medical mask over my face due to going through dental work, I normally find random Thai's and just sit and talk as I speak Thai fluently and have no farang friends here anymore really.
