Well, thanks for that. Now I'm only just a little skeptical (instead of a lot). But hope it's true and that it's for everyone, marriage, retirement and not just "teachers". As they say...we shall see. Will look forward to more "positive" replies than mine.... :D

The rumor I have heard is they will begin doing extensions sometime between mid-October and mid-November. The nice Immigration guy there in Korat told me to call in early November before I need my extension to see if they are doing it yet.

Did the immigration officer told you that last week??

Information from KF forum is that to-morrow one of its members is collecting his one year extension.

So let us wait another 1-2 days and we will know .

Looks like Korat Immigration office is now doing extentions. Can anyone confirm this.

I was in the Korat immigration office this morning so my wife could register the fact that I was living in our house, the officer told me that they were now open for visa extensions, in fact he was trying to convince me that when my 3 months were up on my non imm type o that I would be better off getting another 30 days in Korat than crossing the border.

Makes perfect sense and shows they're not doing yet what most up here need!

Steve, why don't you just go to Bkk to get a one-year extension before your three months are over?!?!?! :o

As I leave Thailand at least twice a year to work in the UK I find the best choice of visa for me is a multiple entry non imm type o, when I stay for longer than 3 months I go to Laos which is quite handy for me as my wife’s family are from Nong Khai.

How about one-year visa and multiple re-entry permit, planning from the viewpoint where you want to pay taxes? :o

I went from a Tourist visa to a Non-Immigrant O-A visa at the Korat office today. My husband got a 30 day extension on his Tourist visa. I think they are in business now.

Hi Rollercoaster,

To be honest I really haven’t give much thought to which visa would be the best for me, At the moment I am in the UK for about 5monts every year so it is much easier for me to go to the Thai embassy in London and get a new non immigrant type o multiple entry visa every year.
