No that wouldn't be anywhere near right.

Suvarnabhumi to Don Mueang is around 42 km, which at current taxi rates would be approximately 270 Baht. Add 50 Baht airport surcharge, tolls and maybe some waiting time if traffic is bad and it should be around 400 Baht (or at most 500 Baht).

There is a FREE shuttle bus from Swampy to DM , and return , if you show your ticket ( printed , or on your phone ) to prove your onward flight. Bus stop and ticket "check" is outside exit door 2 or 3 of Swampy. I think the last bus is around 24:00 and the first begins about 05:00. Someone may have a link to the timetable thats displayed inside of the terminal exit door ( 2 or 3 ). Quick edit - ive never used the bus or a taxi , only the shuttle bus , but the bus fare , if running , will be about b50 - 100 and the taxi no more than b400.

Taking the taxi must be hell, there were at least 12 lines with 20 people each waiting for a taxi. Taking the shuttle is easy and you can get someone to look after your baggage.

2 weeks ago I paid 430baht for a taxi Don Mueang to Swampy. That's almost for free but annoying was the insane taxi que at DM though.

What time of day was your taxi trip?
