Bluetooth from phone to car stereo - Android

Featured Replies

Anyone know how to get this working automatically.

Sometimes it links to my Bluetooth device that sends an FM signal to my stereo so I can listen when driving, but sometimes it doesn't.

Is there a way to make this automatic and reliable?

I'm using a normal Android phone.

Thanks

The cheap (cheaply made) Bluetooth->FM transmitter devices aren't very reliable.

Better if you had a high-end car stereo / media center unit with built-in Bluetooth.

If you just want a cheap, reliable source of your own music in car those cigar-lighter plugins work very well. Use a SD card for the music, tune into the bottom-end of your car radio FM band. Cost less than 300 baht in most computer and electronics shops.

I think that's the same gadget that the OP is having issues with and as another member pointed out, they are pretty unreliable. I bought 3 of them before I got one that would connect every time. You may have got lucky with the first one working OK.

Advice to the OP is buy another one and not from the same rack at Tesco or Big C or wherever the dodgy one came from.

PS: Not sure what the relevance of the OP's android phone is unless he's using the BT gadget to 'bridge' the phone audio output to the car stereo.

They are very fussy about what they connect to.

I went through several before I found one that works with my Note 4.

But the one I have is pretty reliable.

TBH it's trial and error.

Better to get an ordinary one without bluetooth that can take an audio cable straight from your phone.

I'm not an Apple fan by any means but I do have an iPod and it works perfectly from the audio plug in my car and/or the USB port in my truck.

That's very helpful, isn't it?

Quite often it's easier and more efficient to get out of the box. I avoid Bluetooth devices.

That's why I recommended using a cable.

But changing device?

3 days and the op hasnt responded or clarified his vague remarks
