Xmas dinner in Khon Kaen or Udon Thani

I wasn't expecting to be home for Xmas but things have changed and I now will. Due to this I was hoping to go to a nice Xmas dinner in KK or Udon. Does anyone have any experiences or recommendations?

Admittedly I haven't been there for a few years but the Pullman in KK used to always put on a decent spread.

I have just booked Christmas at Castle Howchow beach resort hotel in Kranuan.70km north east of Khon Kaen.

4,300 baht per couple including room, breakfast and dinner for two nights. Some really good reviews on trip advisor. Live music, karaoke and a huge swimming pool.

In Udon, the Kinneree Restaurant always put on a big buffet for dates like Halloween, (American) Thanksgiving, Xmas, etc. They are well attended so I guess they are decent. Price for the recent Halloween buffet was 189 baht per person. I am about to try their Thanksgiving buffet, so will let you know.
