Two arrests made in Australian ex-biker Murder case



PATTAYA: -- Further developments in the Australian ex-biker murder case were announced by Police on Wednesday afternoon, which includes the arrest of an American suspect who was about to leave Thailand through a land border crossing, and the wife of the initial Australian suspect.

It was also announced by Immigration that the initial suspect, Mr. Antonio Bagnato aged 26, has left Thailand, to the disappointment of investigators who believe he was the main instigator of the abduction and murder.

Further details on the rented pick-up emerged later on Wednesday and it was confirmed by Khun Manop aged 45, the owner of a Car Rental Shop in Soi Xyzte in Central Pattaya that the Toyota Vigo, thought to have been used to transport the dead body of Mr. Schneider to the burial site, had been rented from him at a cost of 5,000 Baht per day on 28th November until 3rd December. The person who rented the truck was the wife of the escaped Australian, Mr. Bagnato, who Police detained for questioning on Wednesday. Her name was withheld from the media but we understand she was asked by her Husband to rent the truck but claimed to be unaware of what the vehicle was to be used for or the plan to murder Mr. Schneider.

The vehicle was located thanks to its GPS tracker in Soi Kasetsin 5 off the Pratamnuk Road on Wednesday Morning and was forensically examined. The detained Thai woman further revealed her Husband told her to delete all text messages from her phone relating to the truck rental. A house in the vicinity, thought to have been rented by Mr. Bagnato, was searched and nothing of significance was found.

American arrested on suspicion of killing former Hells Angels member

BANGKOK: -- Sakaew police arrested an American on suspicion that he had involved in the abducting and murdering of an Australian former Hells Angels member.

Joseph Fulto Gerard, 21, who carries an American passport, was arrested at 11 am while he was about to leave Thailand via the Rong Klua border checkpont in Sakaew.

He was suspected of abducting Wayne Rodney Schneider, 37, at gunpoint on Monday. Schneider's body was found in a woodland grave outside Pattaya.

Although I don't have a very high opinion of the RTP, I would never say that they are completely incompetent.

If you check their rate schedule if it is used for kidnapping and carrying a dead body or any other crime the price is 5000 bahts.

I suppose if you fit trackers on your hire fleet you have to get your money back somehow!
