Human torso found at reservoir in Korat

KORAT: A human torso was found inside a black plastic bag part dumped at Huey Ban Yang reservoir in Muang district of Nakhon Ratchasima yesterday.

The police said it was not immediately known if that headless human central part which had traces of burns belonged to man or woman.

But from initial examination the victim could have been dead a few days ago.

A villager who fished at the reservoir found the bag and suspected it might contain something, police said.

Police said the victim might be killed from somewhere and had the body chopped and burned.

But as the fire did not burn up all the body, they were then split and dumped at different places to cover up the identity of the victim.

Nobody has yet come to the police to report the missing of their relatives.

when the girl from Nana plaza was murdered a while back, the police said that the crime must have been committed by a foreigner as a Thai person would never go to that much trouble to dispose of a body (my friend was in the room at the time and heard them say this).

Let's see who they try and pin this one on.

With this kind of mindset going into an investigation, there is little chance of finding the guilty party.

Follow the evidence not your pre-conceived notions of how Thai people might kill and dispose of a body.

Undertrained, ignorant and biased. Not a good combination for an effective police force.

How long before they attempt to ban the sale of black plastic bags to reduce crime? Everyone knows that criminals will find a way to get the bags even if they are outlawed...
