They either (1) do not think at all, (2) do not think they will be found, or (3) consider that they "had to do it" and any and all consequences are another issue for another time. You might consider consequences, but you are probably never going to be in that position because you are different from them.

Not they are not. It is the duty of the police to protect the suspects because although it`s 100% certain they are guilty, the lads have not been brought to trial yet and proven guilty on evidence and sentenced.
