"This Page Has A Redirect Loop"?

Recommended Posts

Recently, when I've tried to link to stories in the Bangkok Post, I've gotten this instead:

"This Page Has A Redirect Loop"...Then below it in small, coy style:

"Err...too many redirects"

What is this about? Anybody else get this recently.

Using Chrome, win-8.1 with Classic Shell, HP Laptop, True ADSL, Bangkok

You tried to link to Bangkok Post here in the forum?

This is prohibited by the Bangkok Post and written somewhere in forum rules.

Not good friends with TV.

No idea about this endless loop.

Sometimes if you go to a web page the web server sends back a message saying "actually, you really want to go to this different page". Your browser then tries to load the different page. Normally things stop there. However, sometimes, rather than providing the different page, the web server sends back another message saying "actually, you really want to go to this different page". If this carries on more than a few times the browser gives up and displays an error message.

In this specific case the sequence of "different pages" at some point takes you back to a previously requested page, so there's a loop which can never be resolved.

After I posted my question, the next time that page came up, I noticed a tiny "details" option in the corner. It suggested clearing cookies in my browser which I did. BP links now opening.

The links were from Google News, not ThaiVisa.

Got the message wrong.

"I've tried to link to stories" sounded like you want to create a link to a BP site.
