changing branch with BKK bank

Featured Replies

How is this done, moving from BKK to province?

Do you retain the same account number?

Thanks.

Some people find it easier to open another account. Leave the first one open with a few thousand baht in it, or close it. The choice is yours.

If you do move you do not keep the same account number as it contains the branch code.

Ok - thanks guys.

Guess i'll just leave it, got too many things attached to that a/c and cannot be bothered with all the beuracracy (sp) in this country to change things.

You'll have to open a new account with a branch in the province you are moving to. Whether you keep open or close your current account is a separate issue.

Just a thought:

Why not open a new account where you're moving, (obviously getting new cards/books, whatever) keep the old account open and feed the old one from the new one, transferring stuff at a a pace that suits you.

When/if it's all moved, run the old account down to zero.

All made easy If you've got online banking.

I've no experience of this in Thailand but have done exactly that in UK.

You might also decide that for your new account one of the others suits you better (SCB, Kasikorn or whoever) Then again if you're happy with BKK Bank, no problem.
