swbaggies Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 Hello Does anybody know where in Phuket town, or the island, sells remote control drones? Im looking for either somewhere that sells spare parts or new units or both Any help would be great thanks
hansgruber Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 Robinson department store in town has them. Toy department 3rd floor.
swbaggies Posted December 21, 2015 Author Posted December 21, 2015 What about a general toy shop. Any good suggestions?
hansgruber Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 I can't think of a general toy shop that isn't in a department store. Toys r us is at homeworks but they have no drones.
Shot Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 Not in Phuket Town, but Lazada has some nice choices: http://www.lazada.co.th/shop-toys/?q=drone&sort=pricedesc&dir=desc

LivinginKata Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 There is a quality model shop on Chaofa West about 2km out from Chalong Circle, left side, small place. They specialise in remote control planes etc, so I assume have drones ..
merijn Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 Central has them at 3 floor behind the small mobile phone shops. There is a small shop which sells the drones.

LivinginKata.... im a bit of a novice with google maps, ive tried to put in the 7.50 ref at bottom and it doesnt find it. Do you know the google maps reference, or can you confirm its on the same rd as living mall and home pro as i always get the West and East road mixed up... Thanks

Peterocket Posted December 22, 2015 Posted December 22, 2015 Another RC shop here is Cherng Thalay: https://goo.gl/maps/Mk3NyNyrFgP2
swbaggies Posted December 22, 2015 Author Posted December 22, 2015 Thanks. I look forward to looking into both options
oldman1 Posted December 23, 2015 Posted December 23, 2015 Central has them at 3 floor behind the small mobile phone shops. There is a small shop which sells the drones. second floor, not 3.
LivinLOS Posted December 25, 2015 Posted December 25, 2015 Not in Phuket Town, but Lazada has some nice choices: http://www.lazada.co.th/shop-toys/?q=drone&sort=pricedesc&dir=desc Wow. Some are nearly 70k baht. Some are easily 5x that still in consumer realm.. For pro work 10s of 1000s isnt that unusual.. UAVs extend far beyond just toys.
stevehaigh Posted December 26, 2015 Posted December 26, 2015 Lots of spare parts needed here what a great new sport, now i want a drone too
beechbum Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 Got 1 for the little bloke for Xmas, 1900b from Toys R us, great fun and really easy to use.
RedCardinal Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 Buy online also. twinprohobby.com one of Thailand best RC shops. Not based in Phuket, but very fast shipping and really know their stuff. The RC shop mentioned by livinginkata is easily missed if driving north because they sign on front on building says "insurance". When driving south the sign on side of building says "RC". Limited stock there and many items he needs to order. Online option far better IMO.
