Renter Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 just drove by and see Nanai Sports Bar has closed . A big FOR RENT sign. I remember 3-4 years ago I couldn't even get a seat there one night it was so full.
Renter Posted December 28, 2015 Author Posted December 28, 2015 Is a pity really as they had the best bangers & mash I've ever had in Patong
LivinginKata Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 Is a pity really as they had the best bangers & mash I've ever had in Patong Good bangers and mash at Quenchers (was Toy) right opposite Makro on Nanai ... Becoming my regular eatery these days ..
Somtamnication Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 Always wondered about Quenchers. I know the owners of the buildings there and behind it. How is the falang food there?
LivinginKata Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 Always wondered about Quenchers. I know the owners of the buildings there and behind it. How is the falang food there? Quite good. They offer a good range of both Farang and Thai food. Very busy through the day. We had lunch a couple of days ago and there must have been 20 customers, almost all younger tourists. That quite a change from the usual empty businesses along Nanai. I wonder if it's just the Toy Restaurant rebranded. Large German owner of Toy apartments behind, on the hill. Used to sit much of the day in the restaurant, but I have not seen him recently.
NamKangMan Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 There will probably be many more closures after this "high season."

NamKangMan Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 There will probably be many more closures after this "high season." I have no doubt ... and your point is ... My point is, today it's bangers and mash gone, tomorrow it's Sunday roast gone. You like a good Sunday roast, don't you?
LivinginKata Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 <snip> You like a good Sunday roast, don't you? Not really ... and I also don't like your trolling ...
NamKangMan Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 <snip> You like a good Sunday roast, don't you? Not really ... and I also don't like your trolling ... I am not trolling. We will all start to see our favorite places close, never to return. Like you say, "changing times." We will all lose something, or somewhere, that we enjoy on Phuket. Eg. the OP losing his best bangers and mash. What surprises me is the speed in which it is happening.
