December 29, 201510 yr How bad and extensive are the roadworks on the MHS loop and is there any way of avoiding all or part of them? Planning a trip there early January, but will go elsewhere if totally impractical, as usual we are in no hurry, but if it means days of dust and rubble it won't be fun, so will switch the trip and go later on.

December 30, 201510 yr Author That is quite some distance (time wise), we do have a "dirt bike" but are two up, also is there much dust? Also haven't decided whether to go clockwise or CCW.
December 31, 201510 yr Done it yesterday, about 50% of the road between Pai and CNX, but still worth to do
January 2, 201610 yr It will add an hour or so onto the trip but is no real drama. Would be different in the wet season....
