True Online upload & FTP problems / speed

Featured Replies

Hello,

Any help GREATLY appreciated. Thanks in advance... I recently moved into a new condo in Suanluang in BKK. I think I'm on the 7-10mb (599 baht) plan (http://trueonline.truecorp.co.th/product-service/hispeed-net/entry/5350).

Since last night sending any emails with an attachment has been near impossible and I can not connect to my FTP to update my websites. I did a speed test via the True site and it's saying download at 12.94mb, but the upload is only 0.72mb which seems incredibly slow?

What should the average upload speed be? Any ideas on how to speed it up. I'm on a Mac (OSX 10.10.5).

Thanks & Help!

1 Mbit upload is standard in Thailand, with 0.72 Mbits you are near that mark.

Another point is that ADSL2 maxes out at 1.5 Mbit upload.

Unless you use another technology (cable, fiber, VDSL), you will be stuck with that kind of speed.

On the other hand, I have no problems working with 0.75 Mbps unless I have to upload a lot of pictures and videos ?

The link you gave on your plan says 1Mb upload speed...so the 0.72Mb you are getting is not to far off the mark. Based on your "but the upload is only 0.72mb which seems incredibly slow" remark was you expecting some much higher upload speed? You get what you pay for...you are paying for 1Mb and almost getting it.

Is that 0.72Mb result based on a speed test like using Speedtest.net or a manual measurement you did based on some file you are trying to upload?

hi both,

Thanks for the advice. The speed test I did was on the True website http://trueonline.truecorp.co.th/speedtest

But I just tested http://www.speedtest.net/ and it's fairly similar (download: 12.58 / upload 0.64).

I also just discovered my web hosting site is blocking my ISP address due to repeated attempts to log on on April 6th 2015 - I only got the broadband put in last week!

I'm willing to upgrade I was just double-checking first, though, I am concerned it will make little or no difference. Think I've no choice but to try though I suppose...
