Your local OrBorTor is very forthcoming with information.

Should ask him/her are the 16th a S4 buildings illegal hotels or not.

They are still trying to work out whether they were built in a National Park. biggrin.png

Actually, I can say with confidence that they definitely are not in the National Park smile.png

But how permission was granted to build the 8-storey high building of S4 that sits atop a hill close to the airport is beyond me - the authorities would not even allow me to put up my ham radio antenna because it was 'too high and could pose a danger to planes'.

At least if there are any stray planes, they will hit S4 before they hit my garden blink.png

How can you say with confidence that they definitely are not in a National Park when Thai officials do not even know where the boundaries are and how land titles were issued for land that "appears" to be in the National Park?

Simon, you are forgetting you are a farang, and this is Thailand. :)

Those National Park boundaries can be changed, for a few baht to the right people.

One day they have encroached, the next day they haven't. :)

Depends what you mean by a 'few baht' - more like a million baht plus
